This Carl Zeiss Sonnar 135/3.5 Zebra version is not multi coating yet. I compare it to the MC version, but not side by side, 'coz the two MCs sold first. Over all, there are no big different, among them. Multi coating is said to be better to handle flare, and over light. But is that true? This lens isn't bad handling light. From my experience, zebra version has better CA control.
Let's see how this lens handle flare/ strong back light
Portrait lens, yes this is famaous as good portait lens,
Cropped. The original file has back light in left, like the one above it |
Wide open |
This silloute prove that this lens has less CA/purple fringing
Perfect for silloute |

I see an interesting comparison between Sonnar and other 135mm lens in Mflenses.com
