 The legend, 1:1 macro lens is back.

still strugle with NEX5, I need camera with viewfinder for macro shot.

Kiron 105/2,8 MACRO & Leica Elmar 100/4 macro on NEX

This is not scientific test, that's kind of boring test for me :D so it's not represent all copies of both lenses.

My friend allow me to test his Leica elmar 100/4 macro non bellow version against my Kiron 105/2,8

Leica said to be 1:1,75 maginification, while Kiron 1:1

on body it's written 0,6 mmeter MFD, but it can be turned to closer ( about 0,5 in Kiron) 

Kiron has 0,45 MFD

Over all Leica has better control of light & lower contrast while Kiron high contrast & little bit sharper

I shot some of this dragon fly, but it cannot be good for comparison 'coz it was in different place also  different setting, but I think Kiron is sharper

Accessories & bokeh

Last night I played with my wife's accessories.
Sony NEX combined with, Yashica ML 55/1,2, Volna 9, Kiron 105, FD 55/1,2 ssc, and FD 35/2 ssc.
Some with flash, some without flash. Wide open and one @f5,6 specially volna 9 for star bokeh.

I read about this lens for long time, while I was searching for good price.
About a month ago my friend offered me to collected money to bought some lenses. Good news, this lens was included. The lens arrived 2 days ago in excellent condition. But I sold my Canon EOS.
Well doing macro with Sony NEX isn't easy, specially with this tele. And I don't have time now to make a good picture. So it will be continued...

Taken with EOS 650 + Lucky BW 100 film

For now this is the widest manual lens I own (16mm isn't wide lens, its fish eye I think). So I keep it. Edited, I have Tokina 17/3,5 now but I still keep this lens. :D
This lens was made by Kiron but the brand is Vivitar. The serial numbers begin with 22 is indicate this. As you might know, Vivitar didn't made all of their enses by their own. Some people says, the one made by Kiron is good one. Want to see Who made vivitar lenses? Check out HERE.
I only have one Vivitar at the moment, and this is made by Kiron. i think its a good lens.
Sharp enough to satisfy my 'sharp passion'.
67mm filter looks cool for me, but if you want a filter attached on it maybe a little difficult but not impossible, only uncommon. And I don't want spend my time to look for one. It goes for front cap that a little bit loose whcih make me more carefull when I carry it.

It has 2.5 widest aperture, this is good for close focus (it's written 0.3 meter) with good bokeh, I think :D


There were a parade near my office, and there's my 1000D with this lens attached. Then I ran in hurry, took some pictures. Too bad I didn't aware that the A/M pin is a little bit loose. So it often wide opened.
