Rubinar 500mm/8 Mirror Lens

Dmitry D. Maksutov adalah orang yang menemukan  catadioptric system (National Prize of the USSR, 1941) lebih dari 60 lalu. Sistem ini terus mengalami perkembangan sejak saat itu, yang kemudian menggantikan lensa MTO yang legendaris dengan Rubinar. yang diproduksi oleh  JSC LYTKARINO OPTICAL GLASS FACTORY.
catadioptric  berasal dari kata, catoptron yang berarti cermin dan dioptron yang berarti lensa dalam bahasa Yunani, adalah sistem/design yang terdiri dari cermin dan permukaan pembiasan/refracting surfaces.

Lensa ini berbeda dengan lensa kamera pada umumnya yang memiliki bukaan difragma bervariasi. Angka 500/8 berarti focal length lensa adalah 500mm dan 8 merupakan satu-satunya diafragma, jadi bukan merupakan bukaan terlebar dari beberapa bukaan.
Bokeh yang berbentuk donat merupakan ciri khas lensa mirror. Demikian pula dengan lensa ini. Saya menyukai bentuk bokeh yang lucu, kadang seperti cincin, kadang donat.

I compare Rubinar with Tokina 500/8 mirror lens, same speed, same aperture 8 fixed. But it looks like Rubinar is faster and sharper

Carl Zeiss Sonnar 135/3.5 red MC

Sonnar 135/3.5 ada 4 generasi, 3 lainnya belum multi coating, termasuk versi zebra. Yang ini versi terakhir.
This lens is famous. Recommended by many photographer. Good color, nice bokeh, good optic & design.

Memang seperti yang banyak dibilang orang, bisa diandalkan. Seorang membeli lensa saya ini, kemudian dia bandingkan dengan Canon 50/1.8 AF, pada posisi open wide, ternyata lensa ini lebih terang hasilnya. Heran benar dia. Padahal jelas-jelas  bukaan maksimal 3.5 vs 1.8.Saya manggut-manggut mendengar info ini. makin males beli AF hihihi.

Ini menggunakan Lensa yang saya dapat kedua. Beda dikit ama yang pertama, di bokongnya ada konektor elektrik. Kualitas ga beda.

Pentacon 200/4

Pentacon released the 15 blades 200/4 lens as a replacement of Meyer Orestegor 400/4.
When I heard 15 blades, I imagine it will be nice bokeh, and when I received it, hmmm.. looked promising.
It's arrived in my place with oily blades, little crack on front inside lens. Body's great.minor scratch. A little bit heavier than my Nikon 200/4 AI.

The use of 200mm lens for sunset/sunrise will produce great picture of cropping the sun. So if the weather is great, then we will catch the great sun picture.
I haven't found a real great one with this lens. But its focus sharp at infinity

Canon FD 35/2 White/chrome Nose

This is FD mount lens but it's been modified to EF.


There are 6 kinds of this FD lens. The three versions with white nose, 2 SSC versions and 1 New FD version. Among those 6, Lens with white nose aka concave is said to be the most sharpest one, even coating is oldest. But it contains radioactive element called Thorium. Here you can see the details.
When I read about 'exceptionaly sharp' I was so interested, at the same time A friend was selling this lens along with other FD (20/2.8 if I'm not mistaken). I asked him, which one is the sharpest. He said its the white nose. So I take this lens.
First touch...hmmmm it so heavy for 35mm lens.

I'm really satisfied with its performance. Easy to focus, sharp.
Only the weight I don't like (when carrying it) but I like it when use it, give steady and stable.

Carl Zeiss Pancolar 50/1.8 MC

I got this lens in a good condition. Hanya focusing ring seperti ada yang ngganjel sedikit, but that's not problem at all.
This lens is great performer. Sharp, good color rendering, easy to focus and detail is good at infinity.
Tone yang dihasilkan bener-bener berbeda dengan merek lain, khas Zeiss.

Beli lensa ini dari mang Ujang, kondisi sudah lusuh. namun karena beliau menjamin hasilnya OK, saya beranikan diri untuk membelinya. Ini lensa Nikon pertama yang saya beli, dan seperti yang saya harapkan adalah ketajamannya memadai.
Fokus agak seret, tulisan dah pudar, karet ada yang terkelupas, namun yang penting kaca kinclong.
Kalau kondisi lebih maknyus hasil pasti lebih Joss.
However, this lens is worth for its value.
